As you may recall, I also have a son born in August 2005. He is much like Riley. My husband and I certainly intend on having other children. I am 35 next month and I know I do not have forever, but there is NO WAY I am ready to try for our next one just yet. Yes, my dear, you are truly insane. :-)

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Well, he's SO CUTE. That level of cuteness CAUSES INSANITY.

I just played the video with my 17 month old son sitting right next to me...he had the same reaction as Riley.
Good luck with the baby making!

Insanity is always more fun with two!!! Good luck!

It will get better, when he can start forming sentences and tell you what actually IS wrong. Well, on second thought, maybe it's not all that much better. Those crying fits, though, ugh.

My 8 year old still does this except now there is the ubiquitous "I HATE YOU" interjected randomly. I thinking of a lobotmy.

I'm thinking of a LOBOTOMY, clearly I need help.

What kills me about these videos is that you're always off with the camera giggling and asking, "Riley, what seems to be the problem? I'm sorry, what can I do for you?" HEH. I love it.

I had seriously had the same problem this week. Well, with the screaming child, definitely NOT the ovulation predictor. The only reason I would need that is to know NOT when to do it. No way would I even consider it right now.
I'm actually happy to be at work this morning. Two years old is such fun!

Best. Video. EVER.

Wow. That looks just like parts of my weekend (the offender was born October 2005). At least we could get outside--of course, most of the tantruming was caused by having to go inside, so I'm not sure if I got ahead at all...

Riley has such a great vocal range! Bravo!

My August 05 little girl was much the same...so I heard. I shipped her away to her grandparent's house (as I do every Friday night) and left her there...
Also, your voice totally wigs me out whenever I hear it because I think it sounds just.like.my voice. The first time I heard it, I thought I was making it up but now I am pretty convinced. I'll have to ask my Best Friend (who also reads this) if she thinks the same thing because I am not sure if your voice sounds like my voice really sounds or just like my voice sounds in my head.
Was that too confusing? Gosh, I think a third cup of coffee may be in order.

Well it's nice to know someone else was sharing in my pain this weekend. The kid even screamed all the way through bath time! She loves to take baths. So glad to be at work today.

Trust me I know about crying kids. My youngest was also born in August of 2005. Sometimes I just don't know what to do with her, she is crying no matter what you do with her. So I just sit down and watch her and eventually she stops because we stop fussing about her crying.

Ha, love those moments. So far I have not had a whole day of that. My 12 month old was watching this video with me. At first he smiled and said baby and pointed to Riley. Then as he kept watching his face started looking funny. He has this "what it wrong with that kid" look on his face. I said "Oh, he's mad isn't he? You do that sometimes too." You think maybe he'll stop since he's seen someone else do it? Well, I can hope.

Yeah, it's just more fun with two. There's no trying to fix things, there's only: crying, laughing or drinking. I have three children now so I am getting to be pretty competent at doing all three of those things at once.
Posted by: emily | 03/26/2007 at 09:27 AM
Oh Lord the sound of crying children makes me want to leap out a window. *Slaps self*
Yes. You are crazy.

Poor baby. Is he getting teeth or does he just work at his mouth like that when he's upset? That video is hysterical.

I would find this video histerical if I weren't living through the same thing as we speak. The song choice really fits perfectly! I'm planning on having another baby in the not so distant future... but when these screaming fits make their appearances it really makes me wonder if 1 isn't enough. Good luck!

As a mother of a 21 month old and I am almost 8 months pregnant....I feel insane. What were we thinking? Are we ready for this? I am excited, yet terrified!
Posted by: Jennifer | 03/26/2007 at 02:45 PM
I have two words for you EYE TEETH. My daughter teethed ok- until those freakin canines came in. She was possessed!!!! The crying and the hands/fists in her mouth, the pitches of the screams and the complete cluelessnes as to why she was upset. I wanted to take my hand and mush her face when she got this way. The second molars were similar in intensity, but they came in more quickly. Begin mainlining vodka and stay away from sharp objects... this could take a while.

oh, with regard to your sanity... you lost that a long time ago, as we all did. It's the only way to DEAL with a toddler. Mine are 18 months apart which basically guarantees that my sanity will never return.

God, THAT'S birth control. I think my ovaries just shrank two sizes. (but he's still a cutie!)

OMG... yeah... so VERY glad those days are OVER! Whew!
