Well, will you look at that - it's just a couple hours from being Friday (the 13th!) already, and that means the weekend is about to start. Gosh, I can't wait for all the sleeping in and relaxing and leisurely brunches and afternoon hours spent curled on the sofa with a good book, you know?
Ha ha ha. Also: HA.
(P.S. HA!)
For something from the Random File, here is a video I made of Riley walking behind his push-cart whatsit several weeks back. He's far more terrifying with it now (think Steve McQueen in Bullitt) and is taking some steps on his own, too, but...well, you know, I finally got the footage off the flipping camera.
God. I already look at this and think how much he's changed, just in a few weeks. Soon I'll watch it and weep all over the keyboard because he'll be a running, jumping, cartwheeling boy and just where oh where did that toddling baby go?
That was such a cute video it HURT! *sigh*

There is something about the addition of music and still being able to hear the voices on the video that instantly bring tears to my eyes...before I even see the cute toddling (CUTE!). I am going to copy you (if you don't mind) and do a one year video in December for my daughter if I can figure out how the hell to do it? What program do you use? You're very talented with the videos!

Hey Katie – I use iMovie. It took me a while to figure out some of the more nonintuitive functions, but now that I can do some basic crap (like drop in video, crop it, add transitions and music) it's pretty easy. And fun!

Just so you know, it's extremely hard to sit here at work and not grin like an idiot watching that. You're gonna blow my cover with cuteness that extreme! That is really cute, and yeah the music and still hearing the voices is a very nice touch.
I like his little babble...he's telling you something, ya know, even if it only makes sense to him.

I used to have one of those! Where did my chubby toddling baby boy go? It makes my heart ache to see these babies growing up. But it is so exciting to see what they will do next.

Jeez, I just want to eat him up he's so damned cute.

The music you pick along with the overwhelming cuteness of the video always makes my eyes burn with tears.
Can't wait to hear the music you choose when he's running around like a maniac:-)

I google Imovie and it seems its only made for Apple? Bummer....do know anything comparable for us lowly windows users?

Gah, now I AM the mom watching it and nearly crying all over my keyboard. My son is only 3.5 and yet I still feel like time is ripping past me and he'll be leaving for college in like a day and half. MUST learn to close office door before looking at cute toddler videos.

I do, do, do miss the sleeping in part of not having children.
I agree with Katie: music + cute baby + voices of cute baby and adoring father = total tear-up.

Oh so freaking cute!!! You will totally look back at that and cry. There's something about that "how quickly they grow" thing that always tears you up. You'll probably cry when he's a teenager, you know? But it's beautiful to have and to be able to cry over it.

You are not only the best writer on the Internet, you're also the best videographer. I just shed a tear at Riley pushing his car because of that goddamned soundtrack and the cuteness and the way it was all put together.
And your right: cartwheels next. Nolan walks down the stairs now. It shatters my soul.

I need to get Kaitlyn one of those pushcar things. At almost eleven months, she's not even standing on her own let alone walking. I think something to hold on to and push would really help.
Your son is adorable!
